This is Cody!

Cody was adopted through one of our wonderful foster
families. Cody's foster mom allowed him to go to her father.
Cody bonded with our fosters dad while he was still in her
care. The match seemed inevitable.

This was a love made "Happy Tail"
Poochie is an adorable Long Hair Chihuahua.

He was rescued from a kill shelter and now has his forever home.
His personality is great and he is definitely a  lover.

Read more from his family...

"Poochie loves everyone in our family and will position
himself on any lap available, but he has become mostly his
Mommy's dog. He loves his mama, and boy do I love him.
He is a jealous little thing I must add. Anytime my husband
and I are saying our goodbyes or hellos, little
Mr. Jealousy has his body immediately in the middle.
No matter where we are in the house, our Poochie
can hear a kiss a mile away. It's like he's saying
"Hey, wait a minute, she belongs to me, why are you
kissing and hugging her? That's my job".
Poochie doesn't get aggressive though,
Just the little nudge of his nose or the occasional
stand up on your leg to let you know he's there.
He's a funny little man and very animated I must add.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to enjoy
and love him. He's absolutely perfect just as we knew
he would be." The Chaney Family

This is a story about Princess Chloe!

Our rescue found a cream-colored Pom (Chloe) for
one of our members Parents. Our founder picked her
up on a trip at the Griffin, GA
Humane Society.

The black and red Poms in the picture above are also
from our rescue:  Precious (black) and Rusty (red).
Our member fostered both sick babies.  Precious
(whose story is below) has 3 breaks in her rear legs
and learned to walk on her front legs to find a place to
potty.
Rusty came to us with a "slight" case of heartworms
which turned out to be a horrible scarring case that
the foster mom also nursed him through. He's alive
only because our foster mom intuitively knew
something was wrong with him.

Chloe our little star of this story found her "Fur-Ever"
home with her new Mommy and Daddy and is as
happy as she can be. Not to mention has begun the
process of being lovingly spoiled.
Look at Chloe's beautiful family!

Welcome to our "Happy Tails" Families page!
While nearly ALL our "doggy tails" are happy, some of our dogs and their families have heart
touching stories to tell. Most came to rescue under special circumstances and we are particularly
proud of how well their lives turned out! This page is dedicated to those special dogs and the
families who they found to be with "Fur-ever".

We want to take a special moment to offer our enormous gratitude to the wonderful families who
have adopted these dogs. Many people who contact rescue are REALLY looking for a perfect,
INEXPENSIVE dog. Others however, understand what rescue is all about. They truly want to
RESCUE an unfortunate dog who has had a rough start in life. They share our commitment to
rescue & are willing to make the necessary sacrifices for their new friend! We are truly grateful
that such special families exist. They make our job a little easier.

These are not ALL our Happy "Tails"! Please be sure to check back often as we plan to add
dogs periodically and you'll get a chance  to see some of our wonderful adopted babies and
their FAMILIES (who aren't camera shy!)

And in the meantime, visit our
Happy Tails Photo Album and take a look at a few of our other
already adopted dogs. Soon we'll have a "Happy Tail Family" story about them here.
                 A SWEET, HAPPY, PAPPY, TAIL!

Meet the Strickland's, Van and Stacy. And take a look at their
newest addition. They are very happy with the adoption of their
sweet, little ,"PAPPY OPIE".
Opie was brought into rescue from having to survive in the woods
with his siblings and Mom.
He was extremely frightened of humans and other dogs.
But love was to be found, with Van and Stacy, who he knows
now to be safe! And he's a very HAPPY boy in his new home
and in the arms of the Stricklands.
" We are madly in love with our little Happy Opie. What a
change he has made in the last three months. He has
discovered that life is now safe, and he is just the Happiest,
cutest, little, boy on this earth.  You cant help but just smile at
his little "OPIE" face and ears.  He really is!! "OPIE"  from the
"Andy Griffith" television series. Just a good little boy, he's
ALL boy, he's always happy! , and he has those big ears!"
We just love our Happy Pappy Opie!.....THANKS SO MUCH!!
                         Meet Shelby!

This is Shelby, re-named by her new wonderful adopted
family. Below is an excerpt directly from an email sent by
Shelby's new mom.
We are always happy when our foster babies finds and
connectwith their people such as Shelby did. Read more
below....
"Thank you for putting Shelby on your
website.  Shelby is doing great.
She is such a cute, loving dog.  My daughter
was searching the web for a little lap dog but
never had any luck. Then my niece told us
about Shelby and her foster mom.
We went to the fosters home to see Shelby
for the first time.  I told my daughter not to get
her hopes up because Shelby may not be what
she had in mind.
 I was wrong.

My daughter fell in love with her immediately.
When Shelby jumped into my daughter's lap,
she said "give her the check, Ma".
We took Shelby home that same day and we
all fell in love with her".

The Contrino Family
                                        This is Scarlett.

This beautiful girl was adopted to the Simpson Family in Florida.
They were just absolutely smitten with her and were very happy to
get to finally pick her up and take her home with them.

And we want to say a very special thanks to Scarlett's foster mom
for taking such great care of her until she found her "fur-ever" home.
Looks like another sweet, "Happy Tail".
Rosie has a new happy home with her new parents AND a brother!!!!!

Rosalinda's new Mom and Dad are named Candice and Bobby.
After her foster mom took Rosie to meet them she immediately
became “theirs” and now does things for them that she wouldn’t do
for in her foster home. Wonderful things like walking on a leash
and allowing her Mom and Dad to pick her up. Rosie even she
goes straight to their human friends and isn’t afraid one bit !!! She
knew right away they were the "Fur-Ever" family that she was
hoping for!!    Rosie's new brother is named is Bruiser, and she
bonded with him immediately.
Rosie's foster mom says "This family consists of an adorable
young couple who loves spending lots of time with the 2
“fur babies”.

Happy Tails just like this one is why we do what we do.
Every day we strive for ever lasting forever homes for our babies.
Read more below on our other "Happy Tail Families".
Take a look at our Toby!
Read what Toby's family has to say about this handsome boy...

"Toby is doing fantastic... we have no idea what we did
without him.  He makes us laugh every day because he is so
"cooky". He definitely is a little love bug and enjoys cuddling
just as much as he
loves playing with us and his toys.  Everyone keeps saying
how happy he is and he has become pretty much a celebrity
in my complex.  My daughter is enrolling him to a "dog trick"
training class at the end of the month - he seems to love to
perform.  So - I just wanted to say thank you again and
let you know how wonderful Toby is and how happy we are."
                                                       Meet Cinnamon!
Read how happy she is and how happy her new family is with her!

"I thought I would drop you a line and let you know how our little diva is
doing.  She has been such a blessed addition to our family.  It's amazing
how her love is so unconditional.
She loves playing outside and we even have her chasing a freezbie too.
We call her the wind up doll because she'll start chasing a ball or freezbie
and then just drop it and start running around the yard as hard as she can
go. She circles the fenced in area and then just plops down before she
gets up and does it again.
We just got back from vacation and of course the beach house we rented
was pet friendly.  She loved walking on the beach but wasn't too crazy
about getting her feet wet.
Take care and thank you again for giving us our little Diva!"
Take a look at Houdini, a.k.a. Cutie Hoodie and his Boy.

They both are Cuties. Read more below about our little
Houdini and how he found love with our Founders grandson...

"Houdini was rescued from a kill shelter and was
surrendered to rescue because he has trouble with both
rear kneecaps and is
a biter.  When we got Houdini (all 6 pounds of him), none
of the people at the shelter would touch him because he
would lunge and attack with teeth barred.  He came right
to me, understanding I was his ticket out of "jail".

We found out quickly that this beautiful little redhead
loves children and found out just as quickly that he does
NOT like adults.  Adults ask him to do things that he
doesn't want to do!  I'm sure he was the little Prince in his
former home!  He's so little and adorable that I'm sure he
was allowed to do whatever he wanted to do because it
was "cute".  This smart little boy learned that he could
yipe, growl and threaten to bite to warn off people and if
the warning was not heeded a biting frenzy ensued--kind
of like the frenzy of sharks feeding.

Houdini came into rescue with very sore ribs and a lower
canine tooth missing.  Our vet believes the dog was
kicked, most likely because he bit... Since our grandson
fell in love with Houdini and Houdini fell in love with our
grandson, we adopted this little boy.  We've worked on
the biting issue and it's much better, but are afraid that he
could relapse in an adoptive home and bite again and
end up without a home again.  Hoodie-Roo is safe and
much-loved living with us!"
This is Precious. "Read her Happy Tail"

Princess Baby Doll (her new name) is our miracle dog and has
found a new home. She is a little gal who jumped out of her owners
car once the door was opened and she ran away. The owner did
not try to call her back or try to catch her.  A wonderful cat rescuer
saw this happen and  she and her rescue friend tried to catch the
little dog for 3 days and nights along a busy divided highway, but
she was not to be caught
until the 3rd night.  When caught she was brought into our rescue
and we found she had two new breaks in her back legs and one
break that had to have been there at least a week before she
jumped out of her owner's car and ran away.
This sweet baby required three orthopedic surgeries to correct the
leg breaks... Needles to say Precious was badly injured. After
months of surgery and rehabilitation she is almost healed.
Although the costs to the rescue were many, it was worth it. She
still can't run a marathon or jump off of furniture but in all other
ways she is beautiful functioning little girl. Her good fortune is in
that she now has a permanent home with a loving couple. Both of
her parents love her very much and she now possesses a full
wardrobe, all in pink of course. This is a truly "Happy Tail"
                                  This is Cruzer!

He only had 3 legs due to an accident when he was a
pup.
Cruzer now owns two children and their mom and really
does run the house. He goes  everywhere with the
family in his own little pocketbook type carrier!
                                        Meet this "Spicey" Boy

He was adopted by a friend of our founder. He has become the friends
Dad's dog.  He loves to sleep with his new Daddy and sit in his lap.
We'll venture to say he's a spoiled one.
                       Meet Kiki-Lu!!!!!

The family that adopted Kiki-Lu are thrilled with this girl
and that makes up very happy.

Kiki had a congenital defect in one of her front knee
joints and was a giant Pap. We were afraid we'd never
find a good home for her, but now she's in a wonderful
home with wonderful people.
      POOH BEAR'S HAPPY LITTLE TAIL!

Pooh was adopted by Van Strickland. The husband
of our rescues very own Foster Mom, Stacy
Strickland.

Pooh was only a temporary placement with Stacy
but, while there Van and Pooh and fell in love on
Pooh's first night at the Strickland home. He, no
doubt will spend the rest of his days being spoiled
beyond belief.

Pooh came to us seriously underweight, with
horrible digestive issues and was practically
hairless except for the hair on his face and his
lower legs and feet.  The hair on his legs and feet
are red-stained from licking.  He lwas surrendered
to Animal Care and Control by a man who said he
found the dog a year ago and was moving way
therefore could not take this little boy or the other
three dogs he surrendered with him.

Pooh is definitely in a good place now!
Congratulations Van and Stacy! And we look
forward to an update and super story on Pooh Bear
very soon with family pictures.
READ HOW TRAMP BECAME LAVONDA'S BEST FRIEND

Please read to see how one of our adoptions has filled an emptiness and created a lifetime of love.
This is what Tramps new Mommy has said about this sweet and very special little boy.

"My friend Tramp.
I'd been wanting a dog for companionship since my husband passed last year. I had several people looking
for me, but I didn't really know what I wanted in a dog or what breed, so that made it difficult.  I just knew that I
didn't want a puppy, a hyper dog nor a big dog.  I'd been to the city and county animal shelters and didn't find
anything that I thought would be suitable.  My daughter just happened  to look at the Pet Fnder website for the
first time and spotted Tramp.  We were so lucky that not only was he being fostered locally but his foster
mother was a friend of a friend! After several e-mails to his 'foster-mom' and phone calls to friends, it seemed
like this dog was meant for me.
Tramp loves people, is a great companion, and a source of much pleasure.  He doesn't like storms, but I'm
hearing that is the nature of most dogs.  He sleeps on the foot of my bed most nights, but near my face during
a storm.  He does like to slip out the door when it's open, but he always comes back in a few minutes when he
realizes I'm not chasing him.  He's a fun dog and likes children, but gets tired of them quickly and looks up at
me with an expression of "please rescue me from these kids".  He has been & is being spoiled and likes to
have his food garnished with cheese or lean meat.  Before he came to live with me, I thought I'd change his
name, but it seems so appropriate now.
"

Thanks Papillon Pals,  for my best friend Tramp. Sincerely, Lavonda
TAKE A LOOK AT HARLEY! HE FOUND HIS FAMILY FULL OF LOVE & BECAME A GO GETTER...

This boy found his perfect loving "Fur-Ever" home and with it found a super family. Harley is learning agility
training, which is wonderfully super for this active little guy.
Read more below on what Harley has learned...

"Harley is a very welcomed addition to our family.
He adores his big sister, Sassie-Girl, a Springer, & his big brother Rudy, a rescued sheltie. He's funny,
full of energy, curious & afraid of nothing. His temperament is awesome. He loves people, kids, dogs &
cats. He is learning to swim, albeit, not happily yet but he needs to know where the pool stairs are in case
he falls in. He's doing well on basic obedience & Rally obedience. He will get his CGC, (Canine Good
Citizenship), & will then begin his training to be a therapy dog. He was introduced to his 1st agility course
last night & did every obstacle. He flew up the 5' high dog walk, up, over & down the 8' teeter, up the 4'
a-frame, got up & sat on the table and did his 1st jump.
He has the confidence of a seasoned agility dog and
loved doing it all.  I know he will make tons of new friends.
Having only had larger dogs, Harley is my 1st "Foo Foo" dog
and has won my heart as well as the hearts of everyone he meets.
He has his "Furever Home" and hopefully will brighten my days
for years to come.

Thank you Pap Pals Rescue, and a special thanks to May.
He's in his "Furever Home now". You can't have him back.
"

Lynne Crawford, Harley's MOM
